In 2011, Ryan launched Grassriots with a mission to challenge organizations to embrace digital transformation and tap into the human capital potential of their supporters to drive social change. A lifelong developer and technologist, Ryan has led digital strategy for numerous organizations and campaigns with issues ranging from cancer control, modern slavery, wildlife protection to climate justice. Prior to founding Grassriots, Ryan helped launch Leadnow, Canada’s first digitally-empowered progressive advocacy group. Ryan holds a degree in Computer Engineering from St. Lawrence College and was a 2017 nominee for the Ontario Colleges Premiers Awards. He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Non-profit Technology Network, and has been a featured speaker on innovations in technology and campaigning at many conferences.
