1. Event Refund Policy
Engaging Networks hosts informational events, both in-person and online. Individuals who register and pay to attend these events are eligible for a 50% refund of the ticket price if they cancel at least 10 working days before the event. No other refunds will be provided.
2. Event Platform and Privacy
Our events utilize the Whova platform, which is fully GDPR-compliant. You can review their privacy policy here: Whova Privacy Policy.3. Networking
It is in the legitimate interest of Engaging Networks to use its events to build a community amongst the users of its software. In order to enable the personal interaction that will build the community we, Engaging Networks, will share the details of attendees on the Whova platform we use to run our events. For those who do not wish to share their details in this way there is the opportunity to opt out during the registration process.4. Notice of Filming and Photography
Engaging Networks will record their events using video, still photography and audio recording. This media will be used in the legitimate interest of Engaging Networks as a part of the publicity of the event on social media and/or shared with registered attendees to enable the review of topics presented.5. Engaging Networks is committed to providing a harassment-free, inclusive, and respectful event experience for everyone. Harassment or discrimination in any form will not be tolerated. This policy applies to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff.Please refer to the full Code of Conduct below for more details on prohibited behaviors, reporting mechanisms, and consequences for violations.
Code of Conduct for Live & Digital Events
Engaging Networks is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
Harassment includes:
Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, body size, age, race, or religion.
Unwelcome comments regarding a person’s lifestyle choices and practices, including those related to food, health, parenting, and employment.
Deliberate misgendering or use of ‘dead’ or rejected names.
Gratuitous or off-topic sexual images or behavior in spaces where they’re not appropriate.
Physical contact without consent or after a request to stop.
Threats of violence.
Incitement of violence towards any individual, including encouraging a person to commit suicide, or to engage in self-harm.
Deliberate intimidation.
Stalking or following.
Harassing photography or recording.
Sustained disruption of discussion.
Unwelcome sexual attention.
Pattern of inappropriate social contact, such as requesting/assuming inappropriate levels of intimacy with others.
Continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease.
Deliberate “outing” of any aspect of a person’s identity without their consent except as necessary to protect vulnerable people from intentional abuse.
Engaging Networks prioritizes marginalised people’s safety over privileged people’s comfort. The team reserves the right not to act on complaints regarding:
‘Reverse’ -isms, including ‘reverse racism,’ ‘reverse sexism,’ and ‘cisphobia’
Reasonable communication of boundaries, such as “leave me alone,” “go away,” or “I’m not discussing this with you.”
Communicating in a ‘tone’ you don’t find congenial
Criticizing racist, sexist, cissexist, or otherwise oppressive behavior or assumptions
We ask that you do the following at Engaging Networks events:
Respect the boundaries of other attendees
Respect confidentiality requests by speakers and other attendees
Avoid aggressively pushing your own services, products, or causes
We also invite you to use your chosen pronoun when introducing yourself, whether as a speaker or attendee contributing to discussion. Pronouns are she/her, he/him, they/them.
Reporting
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact Austin Dressman, the Community Conference’s Event Manager or any of the Engaging Networks staff team.
We will respond as promptly as we can.
7. Reporting Issues
If you experience or witness harassment, or have any concerns, please contact our Event Manager, Austin Dressman, or any member of the Engaging Networks staff. All reports will be handled promptly and confidentially.
8. Consequences for Violations
